This is actually the first beer that I ever ordered, in a bar in Doylestown PA. Classic Pennsylvania beer, this is often the one you search for if you are far from home. Not the best beer ever, by a long shot, but a good baseline standard if I wind up in a bar that doesn't really serve craft beer.

Let us know when new craft brews are available!! I happened upon the Oatmeal Milk Stout while at the beer store the other day, but had I known in advance I would have made a trip for it, rather than coincidentally stumbling across it. I love the beer and do not want to miss out if I don't have to!
Also see if you can find a NY distributor! My favorite beer store is unable to carry this, but I can get it in CT.
I had an awesome opportunity to get a brewery tour and run through with JD and Chase this past week. A nice facility poised to take Oklahoma, and the nation, by storm. I tried DNR, the Porter, Horny Toad, Native Amber, and the Zeppelin Wheat. All distinct in flavor, and quite smooth. So if you haven't yet, please enjoy a great beer from my home state! Just find them by using our beer spotter.
I grew up a couple miles from where Victory Brewing sprang up in the middle of the wrong side of Downingtown, PA. Its been a thing of beauty to watch these guys grow and expand their restaurant and beer offerings over the years. Almost all of my friends who are from the area have a great story about getting knocked sideways drinking Golden Monkey just a little too fast... or attempting to go toe to toe with some Old Horizontal and not ending up...horizontal.
I have been to the Buckbean brewery and it was beautiful. Doug gave me a brewery tour and let me try all of their beers. The beers were amazing and I wish I could get them out here in DC. We went to the local radio station and Doug invited me to be on the station with him as he brought beer to the DJ's and spoke about the 2009 Canfest. Thanks Doug, I wish I lived closer.
I enjoyed a Wednesday berwery tour in Fort Worth. The beer was great, the people who attended were jovial and interesting. However for whatever reason, on that particular Wednesday evening they did not give a tour. But, now I have a reason to visit again! Thanks for making great quality brews Fritz!!
The bitter was well, very bitter. It has a crisp refreshing taste with layers as a well crafted beer should. The bitter reminds me of a sunny day that should be drank at a picnic with friends playing flag football, or maybe a 4th of July party at the lakehouse. I am drinking this bitter in the middle of a cold winter at the Tryst coffee house in DC of all places because I want to look forward to what will come when the snow thaws and spring rises once again. Heres to you Rogue and the wonderful spring sensation you can bring me with a single gulp of your delicious, impressively perfected bitter.
By the way, I got the beer from a wine & spirits shop on Columbia road in Adams Morgan, they have a decent selection.
The label on this beer recommends it for a wintery night. Considering last night was a blizzard in Washington DC and we beat the record for the most snowfall in recorded history, I thought it was appropriate to break this puppy out. The beer was delicious of course, almost like a barley wine with heavy smoked malts and a very smooth taste. The aftertaste stuck with me and changed to sweeter notes after a couple big gulps, which is what I recommend to get the full experience. I only had one, but should have probably had two!
